Pelvic Healthcare Limpopo
Pelvic Healthcare Limpopo is a three year programme to provide advanced training to physiotherapists in the Limpopo province. It is a collaborative project between Inge Hemel (project manager, Netherlands), Dr Dakalo Muavha (Urogynaecologist, Limpopo Department of Health), Prof Corlia Brandt (trainer, University of the Witwatersrand), and Sytske Lohof (funder and trainer, Netherlands). The aim is that trainees disseminate this newly acquired knowledge among their colleagues, guaranteeing widespread benefits throughout our communities where it is needed the most; potentially reducing the need for unnecessary surgeries and thereby reducing long patient queues awaiting operations.
